Forlorn Hope’s Creed
Let no unjust act goes by unchallenged.
Do everything you can to ease others' suffering and pain.
Never take advantage of those weaker than you and defend those who have no power to do so and speak up for those with no voices.
Stand up to your beliefs and offer no grounds to those whose beliefs are based on superstitions, bigotry, hatred, prejudice and fear.
Stop looking at yourselves with self indulging pity and do something for the world. You will no longer feel sorry for yourselves and begin to live purposeful lives whether you choose to be a chef, a policeman or even, dare I say, a lawyer. But above all, choose to be a thinking, caring and just human being.
Never make excuses for your own failures and you will learn from them.
Never accept that perceived successes are proofs that you are doing the right things because you will fall by them. You should have the intellectual integrity to seek knowledge and truth with rigour, and the moral courage to accept and deal with the consequences of your discoveries.
Never back away from an enemy. It is not enough to say I will not do evil. The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing. Evil must be fought wherever it is found.
